Low-cost Rabies Clinics are periodically held throughout Lambton County, consult your nearest municipal office for times and dates or see our Rabies Vaccination Clinics section.

What can be done to prevent rabies?

  • Make sure your pets are vaccinated in consultation with your veterinarian.
  • Don't let your pets run free in the neighbourhood and keep them indoors at night
  • Stay away from dogs and cats you don't know or that act strangely
  • Stay away from wild animals

Did you know?

  • The last death from rabies in Ontario occurred in 1967
  • 382 dogs and cats were reported to the Community Health Services for biting in 2007 and 29 of them were not vaccinated against rabies.
  • 40 people required rabies vaccinations in Sarnia-Lambton in 2007.
