Eating healthy, eating smarter does not need to cost a lot of money!

What is the Good Food Box?

The Good Food Box program is a food-buying club that is open to everyone in Lambton County. It is a simple, low-cost way to buy safe, healthy food.

To make fruits and vegetables available at a low cost, the Good Food Box combines all of the orders to save money. The result:

  • $15 for a Family Box
  • $10 for a Single Box

Each month the Good Food Box is filled with fruits and vegetables that are in season such as potatoes, carrots, onions, apples, oranges and bananas.

Here is how it works:

  • Order your Good Food Box by the 1st week of the month

  • Pick up your Good Food Box on the 3rd week of the month at a location near you

How do I order a box?

If the Good Food Box program sounds good to you, call the County of Lambton Community Health Services Department at 519 383-8331 ext. 3567 for the nearest location.

Fruits and vegetables are provided by:

The Ontario Food Security and Nutrition Network is an electronic network that links organizations involved in food security in Ontario. The network allows members to share information about food security programs, policy and research initiatives, community action and advocacy efforts.

Food Security means “access by all people at all times to enough food for an active, healthy life.” Food security at a minimum is: 1) available, nutritious and safe foods, and 2) an ability to get suitable foods in acceptable ways.

If this program sounds good to you, then call your local public health agency. In Sarnia-Lambton call 519 383-8331 or 1-800-667-1839 to find the location nearest you.
