Environmental Health & Prevention ServicesThis page was reviewed or revised on Wednesday, February 11, 2009.
Before you travel anywhere in the world, make sure you have the appropriate
immunization. Childhood immunization should be up to date. You will also
need other immunization depending on where you will be travelling.
Fact Sheets on Travel Immunization
Call Community Health Services Department
At least 3 months before your scheduled trip to
find out the shots you will need. Some immunization series take up to
8 weeks to complete, so be sure to allow enough time.
It is a good idea
to make an appointment to speak to the Immunization Nurse as soon as you
start planning your trip. The Nurse will also provide you with relevant
information about potential risks in the area where you will be
travelling.
Proof of immunization may be required before entering certain countries.
Community Health Services Department holds a
Travel Walk-In Clinic to Mexico, Dominican Republic & Caribbean
the
1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month
beginning at 9:30 a.m. No appointments available. Clients are serviced
at the walk-in clinic based on arrival time. Maximum fifty (50)
persons per clinic.
