The Community Health Services Department hopes that your special event is a great success. A food borne illness, however, can turn any special event into a nightmare. To assist you in organizing a safe event, this information package has been developed to provide you with the food safety knowledge you need in order to ensure the food you are serving is safe.
Please note that under the Health Protection and Promotion Act, R.S.O. 1990, CHAPTER H.7 all event organizers are required to notify Community Health Services of special events open to the public where food is being served. All application forms included in this Package must be completed and returned to Community Health Services at least 2 weeks prior to the date of your event. A public health inspector will contact you to review your application.
If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact a public health inspector at 519-383-8331.
