Dental Consultant

Dr. Maria van Harten is the new dental consultant for the County of Lambton, Child Health & Dental Services Department.
Dr. van Harten graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2000, going on to practice in Orangeville, Ontario and eventually own a practice in Mississauga. Since 2005, she has been a contract dentist for the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services for jails in Hamilton and Brampton, Ontario. It was this experience, working with disadvantaged youth and adults in custody, which led to her interest in public health dentistry. Dr. van Harten started her Master of Dental Public Health in 2008.
In May 2011, Dr. van Harten took on the role of Dental Consultant for Middlesex-London, Elgin-St. Thomas, Sarnia-Lambton, Perth and Huron counties.
