Ontario Works is a program that provides financial assistance to those who find themselves in a time of financial hardship. It is for those individuals who do not have employment or a source of income and cannot afford basic living costs.

With Ontario Works there is a dental program offered to cover "basic" dental care. There is a "Dental Eligibility Card" received each month with the claim cheque.

There are three general categories for the dental component of Ontario Works:

  1. Mandatory care for individuals 17 years old and under
  2. Discretionary care for those 18 years of age and older
  3. Dentures.
