This is because we all have a very different genetic background and as a result come in all shapes and sizes. So, the good news is that rather than have one particular weight for height, there is now a range of weights that is healthy for your height. Today, health experts use your weight and height to calculate a measure called the Body Mass Index (BMI). The BMI determines if your weight is healthy for your height. This is just one guide to assess your weight. It is only accurate for people aged 20 65 years whose body composition and size are constant. BMI is not to be used by children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, adolescents, seniors, very muscular people or endurance athletes. How to Find Your BMIClick here for the PDF of the Fact Sheet |
