CINOT is a program that pays for dental care for children and youth who meet certain criteria. A dental professional or parent can request screening for a child by a member of the Dental Health Assessment Team at Child Health & Dental Services Department to determine eligibility, when an urgent condition is suspected.
It is a funded dental program provided by the County of Lambton and Government of Ontario.
Families may attend a dental professional of their choice to receive the care; providing the dentist accepts patients covered by the CINOT program.
Eligibility Criteria:
How to Get CINOT Coverage:
To determine if the child qualifies the family should contact the Dental Health Assessment Team and arrange a CINOT screening appointment. Before dental care is provided, the child must be confirmed as eligible for CINOT coverage and have the appropriate form signed.
Dental Services That Are Covered:
Many urgent dental services are covered. The covered services are listed in the CINOT Schedule of Dental Services and Fees that each dentist has received from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
It is important to know that only the dental care needed at the time of the dental examination is covered- NO future care can be provided unless the child is rescreened by the Dental Health Assessment Team.
How Are Payments Made to the Dentist:
The CINOT clerk sends a claim form to the dentist that will authorize care for covered services. After the treatment is completed, the dentist returns the form to the County of Lambton, Child Health & Dental Services Department. The claim is then processed and payment sent directly to the dentist. Only covered services are paid for.

IDENTIFICATION REQUIRED
A numbered CINOT claim form (CCF) is faxed to the dentist, chosen by the parent, once eligibility has been confirmed. The CCF is valid for a period of six months from date of issue. The CINOT coverage is patient-specific; i.e. only the identified child qualifies for dental coverage.
